Models, musicians and fashionable club-goers attended the Bikini Rock event this past Friday at Colony in Hollywood. Presented by Graffiti Beach and Swoop Magazine, the annual event was hosted by Ash Durrani and featured live music by Lou Lou Malibu and Nylon Pink. Just in time for Los Angeles Fashion Week, the obvious main attraction was the bikini fashion show. Swim suits from Calavera Swimwear, Molly B, Private Arts, Ani Bikinis, TeknoDoll, DiNeila Brazil and Kore Swim graced the runway. Proceeds from the event went towards Falling Whistles.

Nylon Pink’s Jamie Scoles made an appearance during the fashion show drumming in a very Travis Barker-esque style (drumming to hip hop/club beats). You can see Scoles featured in the photos below.

The first line to hit the catwalk was Calavera Swimwear, which featured bikinis designed to withstand the toughest waves. Considered female surf swimwear, the bikinis contain velcro for secure fastening, elastics and fillers. Calavera Swimwear can be mixed and matched to create a unique look. Following Smack Sportswear was Tekno Doll Swimwear, designed by Jolene Danielson. We saw sexy, chic, form flattering designs fit for women of all shapes and sizes. Tekno Doll Swimwear was definitely our favorite. For more information, visit:

http://www.dineila.com Next on the runway was ANI Bikinis, by designer and founder Ami Breslin. The line prides itself on offering “hand-dyed, textured fabrics and crochet knits.” These bikinis are one of a kind pieces that are not part of a mass-production, and all fabrics are hand-selected. Ani Bikinis believe in “short-sale” of fabric styles. This makes the collection more exclusive as far as one of a kind pieces, and no two pieces look the same, according to Breslin. http://www.privateartsla.comWe loved Kore Swim’s nostalgic bikinis, which reminded us of 50’s inspired designs consisting of high waist and classic lines. Kore Swim was designed by sisters Jessica and Nicole Tracy. Before starting the swim line, Jessica was designing custom-made women’s clothing at a small boutique and Nicole was selling ads at Google.
