The Oddities & Curiosities Expo took place at the Cal Expo Pavillion in Sacramento, CA from 10/26 to 10/27 and did not disappoint. Showcasing a variety of taxidermy, macabre, horror, and occult vendor booths, attendees of all ages enjoyed the event.
Outside of the venue, a line of hearses from the Graveyard Mafia Hearse Club set the tone for the event.

Once inside, crowds gathered at the Point Blank Art booth where paintings featuring iconic horror movie characters were displayed.
One of the highlights of the event was seeing preserved deceased animals at the Coble Taxidermy Emporium booth where a $3,500 giraffe was available for purchase along with deer heads, possums, raccoons, squirrels, and a kangaroo. Animal skulls were also available for purchase.

There was another vendor, P-Art -iDermy at the event selling diorama taxidermy where miniature living rooms lived inside the cavity of an animal’s neck. It was crazy to see.

My favorite part of the event was watching Reggie Bügmücher on the sideshow stage as she swallowed a sword, carried a fishbowl from her eye lids, hammered a nail into her nose, was sandwiched between beds of barbed wire, and lit a cigarette using the sparks from a saw hitting metal nails. Reggie was the epitome of a badass female and the crowd was hooked from start to finish during her 30-minute set.

Another highlight was watching Charlie Pain & Max during the Madame Fatales show as audience members stapled money onto Charlie Pain’s arms.

From T-shirts, to jewelry, to bags, posters, seance tea, to witch spells and potions, the Oddities and Curiosities Expo had everything to offer fans of all things strange yet cute.
