Our Visit

My husband Matt and I were in Torrance, CA again and went to King’s Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant for the first time. Our meal started off with the soft King’s Hawaiian rolls and it was delicious with soft butter. We had the Big Island Breakfast (French Toast, eggs, and Portuguese Sausage) and Kalua Pork, King’s Ice tea, and Kona coffee all for $36. Need to go back for all the pastries! As a “walk-in,” we waited ~25 minutes on the patio. People got in line for the bakery during the wait, which is what we should have done.

The Kalua Pork $13 dish consists of smoked pulled pork on a bed of cabbage and served with a small side of Lomi Lomi salmon. The pork was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the rice.

A huge pineapple greets you as you wait to be seated.

Here’s the large King’s Hawaiian sign on Sepulveda Blvd. It’s powered by Spam Musubi.

Since we didn’t get to try the pastries from the bakery since the line was so long, we’ll have to go back and try the Paradise Cake, individual cake slices, cookies, and more.
