While running errands around Cheviot Hills in L.A’s Westside, my husband and I craved ramen and found Nishi Poke and Ramen Bar. We didn’t try the poke, but the ramen was delicious and reasonably priced.

Upon stepping inside the restaurant, which was inside of a strip mall with plenty of parking, we walked up to the counter, placed our order, and sat at an available table. We waited for our ramen to arrive, which didn’t take long at all.

I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, which consisted of pork broth, pork chashu, green onion, spinach, bean sprouts, and seaweed. The meat was tender and melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the spicy miso ramen, which was way too hot for my liking.
The broth was filled with umami flavor, the spinach, and bean sprouts offered nice textures. It’s no surprise I ended up eating 75% of my bowl as it was tasty.
The only con while dining in was how hot it got inside the restaurant. The A/C was off and we sat next to the shaded window. Unfortunately, we started sweating while eating our ramen.
As a result, we opted to take our leftovers to go and enjoyed them at home later that evening.
Overall, the food was great and next time, we will likely order to go.
