Designers and Their Muses Gather at FGI’s L.A. Fashion Week Event

The downtown Standard was filled with designers and their muses for the 2nd Fashion Group International Los Angeles (FGILA) event. Live music, complimentary signature cocktails and fashionable modelesque party-goers gathered to rub elbows with designers showcasing extravagant dresses.

Notable attendees included Natalie Cole, Ashley Jones, Samaire Armstrong, Vanessa Williams, Kristen Ruhlin, Ryan Starr, James Galanos, Lloyd Klein, David Cardona, Elizabeth Mason, Kimberly Ovitz, Nick Verreos, Sue Wong, Jenny Han, Ina Soltani, Eva Franco for Anthropologie, Kelly Nishimoto, Maggie Barry, Charlie Lapson, Michele Bohbot for Bisou Bisou, and “Project Runway’s” Jesus Estrada, to name a few.

Upon arrival, everyone was directed to the second floor for the designer meet and greet. Attendees crowded around the bar as media outlets scattered about interviewing various designers and snapping photos. The room filled with the sounds of chatter and laughter as fashionistas mingled, networked and sipped cocktails all evening.

Aside from the elaborate fashion ensembles, Australian native Katie Cole performed pop-acoustic songs for a segment of the event. During her set, the chatter of party-goers could be heard but that did not affect her performance one bit.
