In the quiet area of Pine Mountain Club, just two and a half hours away from Los Angeles, CA, sits a delicious hidden gem Mexican restaurant offering large portions at very reasonable prices. La Leña Mexican Restaurant is a budget friendly option, especially in this economy where everything is overpriced.

Located in the central town area of PMC, the restaurant offers a variety of combo platters consisting of tacos, enchiladas, Chile relleno, burritos, and more. Platters ranged anywhere from $10-$13. Alcoholic beverages like beer and wine were served.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were told to sit anywhere we liked. Then, a waitress took our order. I had a glass of Chardonnay to kick off my girls trip. Chips and salsa were delivered to our table.

My friend Melissa and I sat outside and enjoyed the fresh mountain air while waiting for our food. The food didn’t take long to arrive at our table, and we enjoyed the ambiance listening to birds chirping with the slight mountain breeze flowing.

Once our food arrived, it wasn’t long before our plates were devoured and cleaned. Cheesy chicken enchiladas paired with rice and beans, guacamole and sour cream made my friend and I come back two days in a row.

The second day, I opted for the taco + enchilada combo platter paired with a Diet Coke. The beef taco was crunchy, the enchilada is what kept us coming back, and the prices were surprisingly cheap. Two combo platters and two drinks came out to just $21. Anytime I’m in Pine Mountain Club, I make a stop at this restaurant.
