|Before and after|
Did you know there are 70 million feral cats in the U.S.? Sometimes, these outdoor cats get injured and without proper veterinary care, they are left to die. It’s messed up, but luckily, for “Little Black Cat” aka LBC this was not the case. Hats off to Melissa Lauer and Angie Rubin for saving this cat’s life. Here’s LBC’s story and how you can help.
***Original Post by Angie Rubin, who rescued LBC***
This is a before and after of LBC (lil black cat) who was picked up in Mid City last Thursday eve when worried neighbors noticed the local “stray” was injured. We trapped him and rushed him to the vet to receive immediate care that night. He responded quickly to antibiotics and pain meds and NO surgery was needed for his eye! While at the vet we opted to neuter, test, vaccinate, de-flea, de-worm and microchip (and ear tip). Feral cats deserve the SAME care, love and treatment as non-feral cats! Now LBC is back home. A special thank you to his caring neighbor Melissa for reaching out until someone said yes. We don’t have an exact cost yet, but it will be at least $500+ unfortunately (treatment & boarding).
ANY donation amount would be appreciated because this is a neighborhood cat with no owner.
I’ve set up a GoFundMe page to help with donations for this scared little cat.
