There are some things you want to keep to yourself and for me it’s a hidden gem called Miike Snow. “Is Miike Snow a person? It’s a band, just a band,” said front man Andrew Wyatt. Miike Snow, comprised of Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg and Wyatt, rocked the sold out El Rey Theater Sunday night by transforming the stage into a light show combined with syncing layers of electronic symphonies and bass thumping beats.
Sure, electronic shows typically have laser light shows synced with music but what made this show stand out among the rest were the guitars, piano and drums. As soon as the band walked onstage wearing white masks, the entire venue turned into a huge party.
The band opened the show with the mellow and melodic “Burial,” which prompted fans sing along to every lyric. While the song is great, the live performance was without a doubt, 10 times better. As soon as the masks were unveiled, I was a bit disappointed to see that front man Andrew Wyatt wasn’t representing his Jesus look. Nonetheless, he managed to pull off a 70s mustache. When the song was concluded, the audience cheered in excitement.

Footage of “Sylvia” will be added soon!
Other notable performances include, “Horse is Not a Home,” “Sans Soleil,” “Faker,” “Plastic Jungle” and “The Rabbit,”
Did you know that all three El Rey shows were sold out, which is a clear indication that the west coast loves Miike Snow. When you attend a Miike Snow concert, expect an energetic “fist pumping” show filled with dance beats and sing along anthems.
(“Sylvia” footage and slide show to come!)
In the meantime, check out the latest video for “The Rabbit”:

Front man's dancing reminds me of Brandon Boyd. Good song! I wish I was at this show.
