Comic Con drew hoards of cosplayers and Science Fiction fans of all ages to the L.A. Convention Center the weekend of Oct. 4-6, 2024. There were plenty of vendor booths, panel rooms, celebrity photo opportunities, autograph signings, cosplay meetups, a new carnival area, and a first-ever women’s gaming tournament. My first Comic Con experience did not disappoint.

Watch my 30+ minute walkthrough below:

Day 1:

On Friday, 10/4 we picked up our press badges and explored both the south and west halls. The south hall had multiple Back to the Future Deloreon cars and merch. As a huge Back to the Future nerd, I had to buy the tote bag that resembled a newspaper. I also posed with the Deloreon.

We walked through Artist Alley, where we saw multiple booths consisting of stickers, pins, tote bags, key chains, and most importantly, artists that were ready to autograph fan items.

One of the highlights was learning about Kwento Comics, a Filipino publication with artists in the Philippines. “Kwento” means story in Tagalog.

The south hall was also the location of the Main Stage where panels were held.

Day 2:

We enjoyed the Addams Family Reunion Panel on the Main Stage with Anjelica Huston, Christopher Lloyd, Christina Ricci, Carel Struycken, and Jimmy Workman.

In the smaller panel rooms upstairs between the south and west halls there were a number of topics covered ranging from AI, deep dive Q&A’s for Futurama, Fallout, among others.

Favorite Cosplayers

The intricate designs and creativity impressed us the most. It was great seeing the cosplayers perk up when asked to take their photos.

Aemond Targaryen was my favorite spotting at Comic Con

The west hall consisted of the gaming area, artists, and animator signings. There was also an area where you could ride a mechanical bull.

Below is a photo of the gaming area:

There was a new addition this year and it was the creepy carnival area. There were also vendors that I recognized from HorrorCon LA and CreepIE Con.

For those interested in photo opportunities, below is an example of the cost ($386.74) to take a photo with both Doc & Marty of Back to the Future with up to two people:

For those who were hungry, the Los Angeles Convention Center had multiple eateries inside as well as multiple food trucks outside of the south and west hall. Inside the west hall, attendees could purchase lemonade, hot dogs, pizza, and more. The entire west hall smelled like funnel cakes, which made me hungry.

Day 2 also consisted of Team Moxie being the Champion of The Milk Cup, the First-Ever All-Women’s Fortnite LAN.

The finals featured 99 of the top women’s Fortnite players who traveled to Los Angeles in an all-expenses-paid trip to compete.

Day 3:

The third day of L.A. Comic Con was much more relaxed and chill compared to Saturday’s busiest day 2. Highlights of day 3 included watching Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Power Ranger, as she was on the Main Stage in the South Hall. Having grown up watching this show after school, it was great to see this icon onstage.
