Celebrating my 41st birthday, my husband Matt made Friday night reservations for our date night at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in Beverly Hills. We enjoyed the 8-course tasting menu, which lasted 3 hours and featured seafood, steak and a variety of deliciously vibrant flavors. At $230 per person, the tasting menu was well worth it. Everything paired nicely with my Chenin Blanc wine. Thanks to my husband, I can finally say I’ve been to Wolfgang Puck’s Michelin-recognized restaurant, stars held 2008 and 2009.

Amuse Bouche
Lamb Kibbeh | Harissa Aioli
Lavash Tartlette | Prime Steak Tartare | Smoked Labneh Shrimp Toast | Sweet Chili Gelee
Gazpacho Consommé | Basil Oil
Everything in this box was amazing. From the lamb kibbeh, which reminded us of Greek food, to the zesty tartare, the flavor bomb of smoked shrimp toast to the refreshing gazpacho consommé with basil oil.

Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi
Pickled Shiitake Mushroom | Buckwheat Furikake | Mushroom Ponzu
This umami goodness was a mix of textures including soft sashimi and crunchy furikake sprinkled on top.

FAVORITE: Black Label Reserve Kaluga Caviar “Cannoli”
Smoked Salmon | Egg Yolk Jam | Chives.
I could eat ten of these Caviar cannolis as they were so creamy and flavorful.

FAVORITE: Spanish Octopus
Purple Potato | Aji Verde | Coconut Sand
This dish set my mouth on fire and the coconut sand was amazing.

Lobster Ravioli
Nantes Carrots | Poached Leeks
The lobster was perfectly cook and the ravioli was al dente. The sauce was so buttery and delicious.

FAVORITE: Ora King Salmon
Fresh Shelling Beans | Dill | Haricot Vert
The Australian dry-aged salmon melted in our mouths like butter. Picture wagyu if it was seafood. This dish was definitely one of our favorites.

Prime Creekstone Farm’s New York Striploin
Pommes Fondant | Salsa Macha | Dragon Beans
Tender meat paired with potato and dragon beans. It was good but didn’t stand out much amongst the other dishes on the menu.

Above is the tasting menu, which was $230 per person. We did not opt for the wine pairing.

Overall, Spago was an amazing experience and I’ll definitely be back. We ended the night with two Americanos and not pictured was the decadent chocolate ganache with apricot preserves and Apricot-Yuzu sorbet. It was so delicious. This restaurant gets a 10/10 for sure.
