Having researched the best microphones for my Insta 360 OneX2 camera, I kept finding YouTube videos recommending the Movo Mini-Duo Wireless Microphones. As someone who uses a 360 camera for hiking and sightseeing for my travel blog, I decided to purchase the mics from Amazon for my upcoming trip. The mics did not disappoint and I finally see what the hype is about.
What’s In the Box
The box is complete with two mics, the receiver that plugs into your camera, and three USB charging cables (one for each item). I charged the two mics and receiver for 2.5 hours and it was at 100% lasting for 10 hours on battery.
Microphone Use Cases
First, I tested the mic during a trip to Olympic National Park in Washington State. We walked on a paved trail to a waterfall and the mics picked up sounds of birds chirping, my voice and my two brothers’ voices clearly. With the wind muff, I didn’t hear the annoying wind noises that plagued my older footage.

The second test was at the top of the Seattle, WA Space Needle. The top of the Space Needle at 600 feet high, is windy and yet again, the wind noise was cut down and my voice was heard clearly. While on the revolving glass floor, I can clearly hear how scared I was and the nervousness of my voice was picked up as well.

The third and ultimate test with the mic was while on a double decker hop on hop off bus in Victoria, BC, Canada. I wanted to document the entire ride and didn’t want the wind noise in my footage. The mic picked up the tour guide’s voice clearly and there was minimal wind interference, although it was still there. The wind noise was dramatically decreased versus the camera’s internal mics.

Pricing
The price for the mics on Amazon was $49.99 and to me, it was worth it. I was able to use my Insta 360 OneX2 camera and the mics did not interfere with my camera’s 360 degree stitching since it was slim and aligned to the side of my camera. No wonder everyone was raving about this mic.
Overall Thoughts
This mic has elevated the quality of my travel vlogs and I highly recommend them. However, I wish the wind muff would adhere to the lavalier mic better. I actually lost the wind muff while on a windy ferry boat from Seattle, WA to Bainbridge Island as it flew away. Someone on YouTube described the wind muff as “trash.” I’ve been on the hunt for another wind muff for the one that went missing but now, I’m even more paranoid of not losing the one I have left on the second mic.
One thing to note, the Insta 360 OneX2 camera does become a bit larger in size when the mics are plugged in via the Insta 360 mic adapter, and then the Movo receiver. It’s still not as bulky as a DSLR though.
In post production using DaVinci Resolve software, I like to adjust the audio a bit to make it sound more “full” by adjusting the Limiter and the Vocal Channels. Knowing that everything I say can be heard in my footage now, I find myself more conscientious and more thoughtful of what I’m actually saying on camera. One day, I’ll get more comfortable and be less robotic in my footage.
