I’ve been searching for a CarPlay device for my 2015 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring for years and I’m relieved I finally found a $36 after-market device from the TikTok Shop. I have been searching on Amazon for a similar product and all the devices I’ve saved to my wishlist cost between $150-$300. I tested the HeyCar Home CarPlay product and so far, it’s a 10/10.

Pros:
- The HeyCar Home device was easy to set up consisting of just two cords: 1. Power chord that plugs into a cigarette lighter and 2. a USB cable to whatever your phone accepts (in my case, I used the lightning cable for my iPhone 12 mini).
- Plug and play: No installation needed, no software downloads for set up, and it worked immediately. All the apps I mainly use were available on the screen.
- Worked seamlessly and without lag. I saw people commenting on TikTok about the product’s lag, but I didn’t experience this.
- The device came with an AUX cord, but you can also connect via Bluetooth or set a designated radio station if you want your music to play through your car’s speakers. (I actually used my original car’s Sirius XM for my music, as you can see in the photo below). I enjoy listening to TikTok radio.
- Price: $36 was a steal!
Con:
I noticed that when I would make a sharp turn, the device would slide half an inch to the left or right, depending on my direction. It wasn’t huge, but I need to figure out what to put at the bottom to prevent it from moving.
Overall, the HeyCar Home CarPlay device was one of the best purchases I’ve made for my car. Now, my vehicle feels modern and I no longer have to use my iPhone hanging from my rearview mirror, although it worked for me since 2021. This device was a welcome upgrade and I give this product 5 stars.
