Peter Murphy, She Wants Revenge and Hussle Club to Perform at Club Nokia, 12/7

Los Angeles’ CLUB NOKIA has announced a Wednesday, December 7 co-headlining show featuring PETER MURPHY and SHE WANTS REVENGE. Peter Murphy is touring in support of his latest album, NINTH and this show will also feature an appearance by Hussle Club. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 9 at 10 AM.

PETER MURPHY has aligned himself with Nettwerk Records to release NINTH, his first solo album in seven years and the first since the permanent dissolution of Bauhaus in 2009. Produced by David Baron, NINTH is a culmination of where the singer has been and where he is now, all imbued with a confidence that has been Murphy’s stock in trade. While countless performers and industry types bemoan the demeaning of music in current download culture, Murphy’s only concern is continuing to connect with his audience with unparalleled honesty. In his four decades of service in the post-punk culture wars, PETER MURPHY has confounded fans, critics, even himself. As the mainman of the acclaimed outfit Bauhaus, he helped usher in ground breaking opaque moods and atmospheres into the post-punk landscape. When the band broke up for the first time in 1983, the singer set off on a solo career that found him challenging his audiences in numerous ways.

She Wants Revenge–the duo of Justin Warfield and “Adam 12” Bravin–released their successful self-titled debut in 2006 with three singles: “These Things,” a video for which features Shirley Manson from Garbage, “Out of Control,” and “Tear You Apart” for which the video was directed by Joaquin Phoenix. After intense touring and the release of a second album the duo took a break to explore other projects. Now the two-headed engine has added drummer Scott Ellis and guitarist Thomas Froggatt and are more then ever a four piece rock band with their latest release Valleyheart, which came out in May and establishes them as a creative force to be reckoned with. Refreshed and inspired, the boys got back to their roots, touring incessantly, sometimes taking the message to the people in a van like the early days. It was during this period that they grew as musicians and a unit while further endearing themselves to their steadily growing fan base.

General Admission tickets are $29.50 and VIP Balcony and VIP Pit tickets are $38. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com and from 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri at the STAPLES Center Box Office located at 1111 S. Figueroa St. No fees are charged at the STAPLES Center box office or at the Club Nokia box office on show days (open after 5 PM).
