For those looking forward to the Taste of the World Festival, the event has been postponed due to venue issues. The event was scheduled for Nov. 6.

On Nov. 4, we received an email from Ray Jelley, president of the festival:

November 4, 2010
For Immediate Release:
Due to unforeseen circumstances relating to the venue, it is with heavy heart that we must announce that the Tastes of the World Festival has been postponed.

We hoped to bring the various cultures and local businesses of Los Angeles together for great entertainment, great food and a sense of appreciation for what is available to enjoy in Los Angeles. Our commitment is to provide this festival at an affordable cost to all involved.

The enthusiasm and support we have experienced from the people wanting to attend and the interest by the media were incredible and truly would have made it an exceptional event. This is truly a massive disappointment for us at this time.

We at AyQueChevere Productions have been planning this event for over a year and have invested months and months of time and funds to generate the necessary vendor, media and public support required for such an undertaking. We have been fortunate to have had the support of a great team and some great friends and wonderful entertainers that volunteered their time in order to create a great show. We are truly sorry to have to make this announcement.

It is important to us that we inform everyone as soon as possible so you can make appropriate alternate plans in time. Please continue to visit our website for information relating to the postponement, refunds, and event
updates. You may e-mail us at your earliest convenience at info@tasteoftheworldfestival.com to make arrangements relating to the post for a refund if you pre-bought your ticket.

Yours sincerely,
Ray Jelléy

  1. Nice try Ray Jelley.
If you had produced the required insurance to the venue and actually paid for the space, the venue would've let the event take place. But in the real world, you have to pay for a car before you drive it off the lot. Don't pass the buck.

  2. Hello Ray Jelley,
Since that isn't your real name anyway, I'm sure you've changed it to another ridiculous, food-sounding pseudonym by now. Which is a good idea since you've skipped town with all the vendors' money from this fake event. Just know that you work in a very small industry, you will be found, you will be arrested and I will testify.

  3. Hello Anonymous,

Obviously anyone can make biased claims without direct knowledge of a situation. To set the record straight for the both of you:

    1. We always purchase the necessary event insurance (you employee of the venue).
    2. Postponing this event cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars.
    3. All ticket sales were refunded.
    4. And yes Jelley is my real last name not a pseudonym (you phony).
    5. We continue to work and produce quality events.
    6. Our 2011 events will raised needed funds to support Domestic Violence Organizations.

    Raymond Jelley
